Get Your Hand Off My Beer

You’re gettin’ pretty handsy, girl
as we’re sittin’ here at the bar
You’re the cutest lady I’ve ever seen
I’d like to take you a spin in my car

But there’s somethin’ you should know
Somethin’ I need to say, my dear
You can touch my hair, you can wear my hat
But please get your hand off my beer

Get your hand off my beer
I worked all week to come here
And plop on this barstool to drink all night
Flirt with the ladies, maybe get in a fight
I’ll buy you a bottle if you want one
I just don’t want your backwash in mine
Get your hand off my beer, baby
Or go over there and get in line

Oh hey, I don’t mean to insult you
You sure are quite a gorgeous dame
I’m sorry, where are my manners?
What in the world is your name?
Here, take a seat, let’s get drunk
You can tell me all about your career
You can put your fingers on my arm or leg
But one more time, get your hand off my beer

Get your hand off my beer
Lady, I worked all week to come here
I’ve got a big wad of cash I’m ready to spend
and I love your eyes and that sweet rear-end
I’ll buy you a shot if you want one
Or a nice glass of red or white wine
Get your hand off my beer, baby
Or stick it where the sun don’t shine

Get your hand off my beer, baby
or stick it where the sun don’t shine.

Lyric Notes: You know that phrase, “Get your hands off my ass, Mister!”? It is a play on that. What would a guy be irritated at if a girl was ignorant as she came up to the bar and was being flirty at the same time?  It would likely be grabbing a guy’s beer that he just bought and was about to take a drink from it. Hey, he worked hard for that drink!
