The Best Is Not Behind Me

I was born to a sweet Mother & Dad
They gave me all the love they had
They provided me with experiences
Some were good and some were bad
But the best is not behind me

I won the hearts of those in my life
And even have an adoring, loving wife
Who is there when I’m struggling
And I’m beat up, and oh, so sad
She says the best is not behind me

When I get to where I want
And life is the greatest it’ll ever be
I’ll know the best is not behind me
It’s in heaven with my loved ones for eternity

So when I’m fearless on my deathbed
You’ll see me joyful, cause I’ll be free
I”m looking forward to what comes after
I’m buried under that old magnolia tree
’cause I know the best is not behind me

No, the best is not behind me.
